The Wreck Field
Sector ID: 9600 | OL: 8-22 | PvP: No
A graveyard of ships that were in transit when the Sundering hit. Two hundred and eighty years of drift have spread them across a wide debris field. Salvage pirates work the outer ring. Rogue automated defense drones still patrol their dead ships, following protocols from an empire that no longer exists.
The Wreck Field is early combat content with good explore XP for pilots willing to fly deep into the debris. Most wrecks have been picked over. Most.
There is one wreck nobody has been able to enter. The oldest one, in the densest part of the field. It doesn't match Varath hull configuration. It doesn't match anything in the registry. The Varath have classified their survey reports on it. The Meridian who have flown past it describe the same thing independently: a sound, felt rather than heard, that doesn't come from the ship's systems.
Key features: Dense debris field, salvage opportunities, rogue drone patrols, the Unidentified Wreck (lore object - inaccessible, quest hook for later content).
Primary XP: Combat (drones, pirates) and Explore (wreck discovery nav points).
Mobs: Rogue Defense Drones (OL 8-20), Scavenger pirates (OL 10-22).
Lore note: First seed of the Vrael. The Unidentified Wreck is the first thing in the game that doesn't have an explanation. No mission sends players here. No NPC mentions it by name. Pilots who fly close enough discover it as a nav point: "Unknown Vessel - Origin Unclassified." The Meridian have a word for what it feels like near that wreck. They don't use it in front of other races.
