The Stillwater Vigil

"Memory is not enough. Memory must be defended."

The Meridian military formation. The Vigil is small - the Meridian have never been a warlike people - but it is precise. Vigil ships are the fastest in the Meridian fleet, crewed by pilots who have trained with both Conclave memory technology and Wayfarer situational awareness. They don't fight like the Keth. They fight like people who know what's coming three moves early.

The Vigil has been expanding for the first time in a hundred years. New ships are being commissioned, old patrol routes extended. They are not explaining why. The Conclave approved the expansion.

Space: Abyss Gate and the deep approaches to The Nexus. The Vigil controls access to the Meridian's most sensitive sectors.

What they want: Secure the approaches to Meridian deep space. Prevent Vrael probe incursions from proceeding past The Throat. Collect intelligence on the seal degradation. Never let any non-Meridian ship reach the Stillwater unescorted.

Missions: Deep sector patrol, Vrael probe interception and data recovery, escorting Conclave ships, protecting Ancient structures from retrieval operations.
