Nullfront
Nothing on record.
Racial lean: Unknown | Funded by: Unknown
Territory: The Throat vicinity, Void's Edge outer approaches, the places other Fleets don't go
Fleet colors: Black hull treatment - not painted, something that absorbs rather than reflects
Nobody officially knows much about Nullfront. What is known is assembled from after-action reports, survivor accounts, and fragments of Deepveil intelligence analysis:
They operate almost exclusively in The Throat and the approaches to endgame space. They are not seen in the Conflict Zone. They do not advertise available contracts. Nobody has traced their funding. Their ships use hull treatment that resists sensor lock in ways that standard countermeasures don't fully explain. They fight - when they fight - with a precision that suggests extensive experience against something that isn't the three races.
Nullfront does not appear on the official Fleet registry. The Iron Compact has filed three formal inquiries with the Concordat Service about their legal status. The Concordat Service has not responded substantively to any of them.
There are rumors - and they are only rumors - that Nullfront pilots have had direct contact with Vrael probes. Not hostile contact. Not hostile contact. The implications of this are significant enough that most Fleet commanders have agreed, informally, not to examine them.
Culture: What culture? The pilots who have interacted with Nullfront describe them as purposeful and uncommunicative. They do not waste words. They do not explain themselves. In one documented case, a Reclamation wing and a Nullfront element converged on the same Ancient site. The Nullfront pilots looked at what the Reclamation was doing, held their position for approximately four minutes, and then disengaged without firing a shot. The Reclamation pilots spent two hours afterward trying to understand what that meant.
What they're actually doing: Unknown. The question everyone is not asking: is Nullfront one of the three races, or something else?
