The Reclamation
"What the dead built should not belong to the living."
Racial lean: Cross-racial, ideologically driven | Funded by: Deepveil (primary), independent benefactors
Territory: Conflict Zone Ancient site, The Nursery perimeter, wherever the active sites are
Fleet colors: Deep charcoal and amber - the dormant-Ancient color palette, intentionally
The Reclamation was formed eleven years ago by a Varath archaeologist named Sera Davin who had spent a career watching Stratum Corp operations destroy context that couldn't be rebuilt. They are not a combat Fleet by preference - they fight because they have to, because if they don't show up at the contested sites with weapons, the sites get extracted. Their pilots are diverse in background and variable in combat quality. What unifies them is genuine conviction.
The Reclamation believes the Ancient sites are not resources. They are records. Every piece of material extracted is a word erased from a message that was written to be found. By whom, and when, and what it says - this is what Reclamation pilots are trying to preserve. The Deepveil shares this conviction and provides funding, equipment, and research support. The Meridian Conclave has had private meetings with Reclamation leadership that neither party discusses publicly.
Culture: The Reclamation is the most internally diverse Fleet in terms of motivation - academic curiosity, spiritual significance, personal history with the sites, even simple anti-corporate sentiment - but the shared commitment to preservation creates genuine cohesion. They take care of each other in ways that purely transactional Fleets don't. They also argue constantly, because they have opinions about everything and are not shy about sharing them.
What outsiders miss: The Reclamation has been collecting survey data on active Ancient structures for three years. Their data is more comprehensive than what any racial faction has, because the Reclamation goes to the sites everyone else only extracts from. They know the structures are activating. They know the energy signatures follow a pattern. They don't know what the pattern means, but they are twelve months into an interpretation project that they believe will produce an answer.
What they're actually doing: They have found something in the data that doesn't fit their models, and which matches a fragment of psionic record that a Meridian Conclave elder shared with them six months ago. They haven't told anyone what it is yet, including most of their own pilots. Davin is deciding whether the answer is something the galaxy is ready to hear.
