Riftmark

A spatial anomaly - a point where the dark matter currents the Meridian navigate by are visibly distorted, as if something large and absent has left a wake. The Riftmark itself is a location in the center of the sector where instruments behave incorrectly and Meridian pilots go quiet.

Varath scientists have been studying the Rift for thirty years. Their current working theory is that it represents the entry point of a large mass that has since moved on - a rogue stellar body, or a gate transit of unusual scale. The Meridian have not offered an alternative theory. The Conclave's designation for the Riftmark translates approximately as the place where the door was.

Primary XP: Explore heavily dominant (the Rift and surrounding anomalies), Combat secondary (creatures drawn to the anomaly).

Lore note: The Riftmark readings are consistent with a transit of something approximately the size of a small moon, moving at a velocity inconsistent with natural stellar mechanics. The event happened approximately two hundred and eighty years ago.
